Distribution of Projected Interparfums India Market Demand

A histogram provides an advanced quantitative technique for examining the distribution of projected demand across potential Indian sales territories. Unlike a standard bar chart, a histogram groups continuous quantitative observations into intervals and measures the frequency of observations within each interval.

A test dataset can model projected annual Interparfums fragrance sales across 30 potential Indian sales territories. The model should combine market-growth evidence, premium-fragrance demand, retail availability, e-commerce accessibility, population concentration, and hypothetical Interparfums market penetration assumptions. Projected observations must remain explicitly classified as test data rather than reported Interparfums sales.

Title: Frequency Distribution of Projected Annual Interparfums India Sales by Test Territory

X-Axis: Projected Annual Sales per Territory (US$ millions)
Y-Axis: Frequency of Territories

The frequency distribution demonstrates a concentration of projected territories between $1.5 million and $2.4 million in annual sales. Fifteen of the 30 modeled territories fall within the two central intervals. Only three territories reach projected annual sales of $3.0 million or greater.

The shape of the distribution provides an important management insight. National market growth does not imply equal opportunity across individual territories. A small number of high-potential markets could generate substantially greater demand than lower-performing territories. Such variability supports a concentrated launch strategy rather than equal distribution of inventory and marketing resources across India.

The underlying industry trajectory supports continued statistical testing. India generated approximately $2.35 billion in perfume-market revenue during 2024, with projected revenue reaching approximately $4.08 billion by 2030 (Grand View Research, 2025). Premium fragrance represents a particularly important growth segment. However, market growth should not automatically be interpreted as Interparfums growth. Market share, competition, pricing, consumer preferences, and distribution effectiveness create forecast uncertainty.

Future analysis should compare projected values with actual sales after market entry. Variance analysis could measure:

Forecast Error = Actual Sales − Forecast Sales

Percentage error could subsequently determine whether demand assumptions require adjustment. Large positive or negative errors would signal changes in consumer response, competitive conditions, pricing, or distribution performance.

Visualization Requirement: A custom histogram should display the seven sales intervals on the X-axis and territory frequency on the Y-axis. Data labels should display frequencies. A vertical reference marker can identify the projected portfolio mean after the complete test dataset is developed.
